At TKD Schweiz, we know that true self-defence begins long before a physical confrontation. Our self-defence courses, designed specifically for schools, parent associations, women's groups and companies, offer a holistic approach to personal safety. These seminars are not just focused on quick tips and tricks. Just as a firefighter needs extensive training to put out all types of fires, people need a solid foundation to effectively handle dangerous situations. The focus is on violence prevention, awareness and smart decisions to avoid harm in the first place.

 

In our self-defence courses, participants learn:

  • How to improve your situational awareness and recognize warning signals.

  • Strategies to avoid potentially dangerous situations.

  • Important physical techniques to defend yourself in an emergency.

While self-defense techniques are an important skill, learning how to prevent dangerous situations is even more important .

 

In our self-defence courses, we learn to prevent the risk of violence through pre-planned strategies, situational awareness training, and training with different scenarios, attacks, and dangerous situations. An important factor in this is our physical appearance. In the African savannah, a lion only goes after the weak and frail. It observes and looks for an easy victim - human attackers do the same. That's why it's important not to look like a victim and to appear determined, strong, and confident.

 

Our training contributes to better posture, movement, strength and speed for a confident appearance. This appearance is usually enough to scare off our opponents and avoid conflict situations.

 

Conflict de-escalation skills are also practiced using various scenarios and strategies.

You will learn escape techniques, how to strike quickly and powerfully with different parts of the body and where to aim most effectively. You will learn and practice techniques to control, immobilize or destroy your attacker.
