Regular training two to three times a week not only improves technical skills, but also general fitness and well-being. Children who are not yet in primary school are excluded.
How much exercise should my child have?
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that children ages 5 to 17 need at least one hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity and several hours of light physical activity per day. Activities that strengthen muscles and bones should be performed at least three days a week.

At TKD Training we understand that sometimes financial difficulties can arise. We want to help you find a solution that is feasible for you. If you find that you cannot make a payment, please contact the school management as soon as possible. Together we can consider various options, such as:
Installment payment plans: We can create a payment plan that spreads the costs over time to make it easier for you to meet your financial obligations without too much stress.
Payment deferral: In some cases, it is possible to grant a temporary payment deferral so that you have more time to pay your bill.
Volunteering: There is also the option of working off some of your debt by helping out with school activities. Such arrangements are considered on an individual basis.
Our goal is to avoid inconvenience and approach these situations with discretion and understanding. At the same time, it is important that payments are made on time to maintain our services.
If a payment is forgotten or not made on time, you will receive a reminder from us. We ask that you respond to such notifications promptly.
If no payments are received despite reminders, we are obliged under Swiss law to take legal action. This includes:
A formal request for payment through the appropriate legal channels.
Failure to pay or dispute the debt within the specified time period may result in debt collection proceedings, which could affect your credit rating and result in additional costs.
We value our members very much and would prefer to resolve payment issues without resorting to legal action. Therefore, if you experience payment difficulties, please contact us in a timely manner so that we can find a solution together. Do not hesitate to contact us for support or to discuss your payment concerns.

The path to a black belt is individual and teaches perseverance and dedication. The time it takes is also a time of personal growth and improvement.
For children, approximately 8 to 10 years of active participation are required to reach the 1st degree black belt, and not before the age of 14.
For youth, approximately 6 to 8 years of active participation are required to achieve the 1st degree of Black Belt.
For students who begin over the age of 20, approximately 4 to 6 years of active participation are required to achieve the 1st degree Black Belt.

Respect is shown in Taekwon-Do through greeting rituals, polite interaction with training partners and teachers, and by maintaining dojang etiquette. These practices strengthen social awareness and promote positive interaction.

Ours is not a traditional subscription like in a gym, but a membership in a school that teaches the art and values of Taekwon-Do. As a student, you are not only supporting your own progress, but also the community and the development of other students. We understand that work commitments, military or community service or illness can lead to absences. In such cases, we can usually find a solution, provided you can provide written confirmation from your employer or doctor. Interrupting membership for other reasons, such as a vacation lasting several weeks, is usually not possible.
For further details please see Section 3 “Membership” in our General Terms and Conditions (GTCs).

Taekwon-Do places a strong emphasis on etiquette, discipline and a code of conduct that goes beyond physical techniques. Here are some important aspects of etiquette and philosophy in Taekwon-Do:
Respect: Respect is one of the fundamental principles of Taekwon-Do. Students are taught to show respect not only to their instructors, but also to their fellow students and to the art itself. This respect is often demonstrated by bowing, which is a common practice in Taekwon-Do. When entering or leaving the training area (dojang), students usually bow as a sign of respect.
Courtesy: Courtesy is closely linked to respect in Taekwon-Do. Students are encouraged to be polite and considerate both inside and outside the dojang. This includes addressing instructors and senior students with appropriate titles and using polite language and behavior.
Discipline: Discipline is a fundamental part of Taekwon-Do training. Students are expected to adhere to a strict code of conduct during classes. This includes following instructions, maintaining a focused and attentive attitude, and demonstrating self-control at all times, especially during sparring and self-defense training.
Humble Attitude: Humility is another important aspect of the Taekwon-Do philosophy. Students are taught to remain humble and open to learning. No matter their rank or skill level, there is always more to discover and improve in Taekwon-Do. This attitude of continuous self-improvement is highly valued.
Code of Conduct: Taekwondo practitioners often follow a code of conduct that includes principles such as honesty, integrity, perseverance, and an indomitable spirit. These principles extend beyond the dojang into daily life and encourage students to be righteous people in their communities.
Self-defense and responsibility: Although Taekwon-Do teaches self-defense techniques, it also emphasizes the responsible use of martial skills. Students are taught that their training should only be used for self-defense or to protect others from harm. The focus is on promoting peace and avoiding conflict whenever possible.
Cultural Awareness: Many Taekwon-Do schools incorporate elements of Korean culture into their training, including language, customs and traditions. This helps students develop a deeper appreciation for the cultural roots of the art.
In summary, Taekwon-Do is not just about physical techniques; it is a holistic martial art that seeks to develop not only physical skills but also strong character and ethical values. The etiquette and philosophy of Taekwon-Do play a crucial role in shaping students into well-rounded individuals who embody the principles of respect, courtesy, discipline and humility both inside and outside the dojang.

Yes, you/your child should participate if it is appropriate for the student's age and/or level. It is important to train with other students from different schools and learn from different coaches, masters and grandmasters. The whole school collectively improves in technique and knowledge while supporting the Taekwon-Do school/federation. This promotes the growth of the whole community and contributes to the development of skills and knowledge.
